hysteroscopic resection of myoma

Hysteroscopic resection of myoma is a minimally invasive procedure used to remove fibroids (also known as myomas) that grow within the uterine cavity. Fibroids can cause symptoms such as heavy menstrual bleeding, pelvic pain, and fertility issues. At Dr. Abdul Basith’s clinic, this procedure is performed with the goal of restoring normal uterine function, reducing symptoms, and improving fertility outcomes for patients.

Fibroids are non-cancerous growths that can distort the uterine lining, leading to difficulties with implantation or causing recurrent miscarriages. The hysteroscopic approach allows Dr. Basith to directly visualise the fibroids and remove them without the need for large incisions, making it a preferred treatment for patients who wish to preserve their fertility.

During the procedure, a hysteroscope (a thin tube with a camera) is inserted through the cervix to provide a clear view of the uterine cavity. Specialised instruments are used to excise the fibroid, removing it in small pieces. This method is highly effective for submucosal fibroids, which grow inside the uterine cavity and can affect menstrual flow and fertility.

Hysteroscopic resection of myoma is performed on an outpatient basis, and most patients can return home the same day. The recovery is quick, with minimal discomfort and a lower risk of complications compared to traditional open surgery.
