PICSI / Zymot
PICSI / ZymotPICSI (Physiological Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection) and Zymot are advanced sperm selection techniques offered at Dr. Abdul Basith’s clinic to improve fertilisation outcomes in assisted reproductive treatments like IVF and ICSI. These techniques are particularly beneficial for couples facing male infertility issues such as poor sperm quality, low motility, or high DNA fragmentation, and are designed to ensure that the healthiest and most viable sperm are used in the fertilisation process.
PICSI is a refinement of the traditional ICSI method. In PICSI, sperm are selected based on their ability to bind to hyaluronan, a naturally occurring substance found in the human egg's outer layer. Sperm that can bind to hyaluronan are more likely to have normal morphology and DNA integrity, making them better candidates for successful fertilisation. Once the best sperm are selected, they are injected directly into the egg, increasing the chances of healthy embryo development.
Zymot is another cutting-edge sperm selection tool that uses microfluidic technology to mimic the natural environment of the female reproductive system. This process allows the healthiest, most motile sperm to be separated from the sample, ensuring that only the highest-quality sperm are used for fertilisation.
Both PICSI and Zymot help reduce the risk of fertilisation failure and improve embryo quality, leading to higher success rates in IVF and ICSI procedures.
At Dr. Abdul Basith’s clinic, these advanced sperm selection techniques are integrated into fertility treatment plans to offer couples the best chance of achieving a successful pregnancy.
