total laparoscopic hysterectomy
A total laparoscopic hysterectomy (TLH) is a minimally invasive procedure to remove the uterus and cervix, offering a faster recovery and less post-operative pain compared to traditional open surgery. This procedure is commonly recommended for women with conditions like fibroids, adenomyosis, endometriosis, or certain types of cancer. At Dr. Abdul Basith’s clinic, TLH is performed with precision to ensure the best outcomes for patients.
During the procedure, small incisions are made in the abdomen, and a laparoscope (a thin camera) is inserted to provide a clear view of the pelvic organs. Specialised instruments are then used to detach the uterus and cervix from surrounding tissues. In some cases, the ovaries and fallopian tubes may also be removed, depending on the patient's medical condition. The entire uterus is then removed through the vagina, leaving no large external scars.
Total laparoscopic hysterectomy offers several benefits over traditional surgery, including a shorter hospital stay, quicker recovery time, and reduced risk of infection. Most patients can return to their daily activities within two to four weeks, with minimal discomfort.
At Dr. Abdul Basith’s clinic, TLH is performed with the latest surgical technology, ensuring precise removal of the uterus while preserving the surrounding organs and tissues. Patients are carefully monitored throughout the procedure and recovery to ensure a smooth and successful outcome. For women suffering from chronic pelvic pain, heavy menstrual bleeding, or uterine disorders, total laparoscopic hysterectomy offers an effective and less invasive solution.
