MD (OG), MRCOG (UK), PD-FRM [Post-Doctoral Fellow-Reproductive Medicine] 13+ Years of experienceDr. Abdul Basith completed his MBBS and MD in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Annamalai University. He is a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG), London, UK. He trained in minimally invasive gynaecological surgery at WLH, Gurgaon, where he obtained a fellowship and diploma in minimal access surgery.
He served as faculty at Karpaga Vinayaka Medical College and Research Institute, Chengalpet and Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute, Porur, Chennai. He was a consultant with Madras Medical Mission, Chennai and Cloudnine Hospital, Chennai. He has served as a visiting consultant at Hiba Hospital, Chennai and Mehta Hospital, Chennai.

Laparoscopy is a minimally invasive procedure in which a camera and instruments are inserted through a few small incisions. It is used to diagnose and treat conditions such as ovarian cysts, endometriosis and fibroids.
Hysteroscopy allows the inside of the uterus to be viewed through the cervix, without incisions. It is used to diagnose and treat conditions such as polyps and adhesions.
Compared with open surgery, recovery is often quicker and scarring smaller, but outcomes vary between patients. Like all procedures, these carry risks, which are discussed before any decision is made.
